Mile 1662-1677 Seiad Valley to Cook and Green Pass Spring

The sensible thing would have been to get up really early to do the 8 mile exposed uphill climb out of Seiad Valley. Or perhaps waited till evening and do a bit of night hiking. Instead we all chose to have a large breakfast at the Seiad cafe and get on the road when the sun was full throttle. Tracy and I left after we'd made a few iffy-reception-phone calls re packages that didn't arrive.
We caught up with everyone at break. The road walk yesterday had made an impact on most of us. Everyone had a sore something.
Though we have seen horse poop on the trail all the way from Mexico we haven't seen any horses. Today we ran into Bill and 8 horses. They were doing trail maintenance.

The uphill slog was actually made easier when the clouds moved in and there was a bit of thunder and lightening. Things got much cooler.

I remember that slog up the hill after Seiad Valley. Glad you got some clouds.
