Mile 110 - 116 Warner Springs to Agua Caliente Creek

Camped last night in a field near the community centre. We didn't use the fly sheet as there was no sign of rain and it was a warm night. Just after dark we heard snorting noises and three large horses approached our tent. The white alpha horse boldly sniffed the thin nylon netting 4 inches from Tracy's delighted face. White horse's body guards kept a horse length away. Satisfied we were not edible, they then trotted off into the moonlight.

As we were picking up a resupply box today we got up leisurely at 7ish, packed up our stuff and had a sausage, scrambled egg and pancake breakfast at the community centre. After collecting the resupply box with the next 4-5 days food we uploaded pictures and a couple of videos (see photos and video pages) at one of the computer terminals there. The computer sitch is not ideal. We will just continue to post updates with an iPhone photo or two and then upload pics from my camera when we have a chunk of time and good computer access. I have ordered an Airstash device which will allow us to transfer pics from my camera to the iPhone to upload. We'll see.

We had to wait till it was cool enough to hike. Apparently it was 100 degrees F out there. We left about 4:30pm and camped at a lovely sandy spot next to the creek. We had just enough time to prepare experimental "Ground Beef Thai Soba" eat a little and bury the rest before it got dark.

Fortunately this was not one of our repeated meals but something thrown together when we were 3 meals short in the planning stage. The other meals have actually been quite good. Honest.
