Mile 357-370 Gobbler's Knob to Wrightwood.

After a sound sleep on Gobbler's Knob (smirk!) we woke up and were pleased to see that the mist had gone and our tent and contents were nice and dry.

We then had a fantastic 13 mile hike to Wrightwood, our resupply town. We took two rest/food stops at fantastic viewpoints. The second of which was a closed-for-season ski resort. We used the picnic tables on the restaurant viewing deck for our picnic and did a bit of yoga/stretching.

Today's hike left the San Bernardino National Forest and entered the Angeles National Forest towards the San Gabriel Mountains.

We got 2 hitches very quickly from highway 2 into town and went directly to the Hardware store to pick up our packages. (Thanks Robyn and  Tony for sending!). Then  went to the Pines motel and got a room for 5. Three young guys, Jorge, Colin and Billionaire arrived at the same time and we decided to share a giant room. They are really fun bunch.

We then got a text from Erin and Brett (Smiles and Dr Slosh) who are also in town and arranged to have dinner. Turns out we are staying at the same place, so we went to the Mexican restaurant next door. Caught up on trail chat and downed a couple of margaritas and beers. Really good fun. Decided not to leave  tomorrow at the crack of dawn after all!    Hic.

Loving the blog! Always an entertaining read! Can't believe you posted the pic of that gigantic spider and didn't comment about it! I would have ran a mile! Tell us more about that please :-)

Keep up the awesome work,

Ross

Yes! Tell us more. I am surprised Ingrid did not hold the spider in her hand for the photo (smirk).
