Mile 1068- 1089 The Nipple to past Bryan Meadow

Went up Carson Pass and the Elephants back in the morning. Hot but windy. Noticed a lot of day hikers today. You could smell the perfume coming. Stopped lots of times to answer questions about the PCT. Tracy said this was our hollywood day as we all felt like the stars of the trail. It was really fun.

When we reached the Carson Pass ranger station we asked the ranger if they sold food. They didn't, but they had  some for free for PCT hikers! Then 4 rangers came out and set up a feast on the picnic table. Fresh blueberries, watermelon, tangerines, tomatoes, humous, chips, cookies, find dongs, twinkles, orange juice, coke.... We talked to them for a while. They were all retired teachers and had a lot of interesting stories.

Had lunch at the edge of Upper Blue Lake and Tracy and I went on for a brief swim.

Though we walked miles today it felt easy with all of the fun breaks. We found a camp 4 miles before highway 80 to make tomorrow's trip into South Lake Tahoe easy.
