Mile 926-943 Rush Creek to Tuolumne Meadows Campsite

Woke up refreshed in our nice campsite on flat bed of sand among the rocks above Rush Creek. The Seattle guys, Filthy, Junko, Clockwork and Katie were camped just below.

The mosquitos are pretty bad now, even people who swore they wouldn't use Deet are rubbing it on at 100%. Keeps breaks short!

We've been so high up in elevation it's not been hot enough for us to want to jump in any of the rivers. But today it was hot and when we entered a beautiful green meadow with a clear torqoiuse stream we all stopped for lunch. Tracy and Katie soaked their feet in the icy water. I dived in. My childhood next to the refreshing North Sea has prepared me for cold water.

It was at this point that Clockwork realized he had left his tent poles at the campsite. We left a note on the trail and aggressively petitioned South-bound JMTers (John Muir trail) to look for them and give them to a North-bound PCTer. Beautiful day and nice people.

We arrived in Tuolomne just in time to get our boxes from the post office. (Thanks Melissa and Stephanie). There was a whole bunch of hikers, about 30, hanging outside the store. Many of whom we'd met earlier on the trail.

There is no camping allowed 4 miles before or after Tuolumne but they have a campsite here. Apparently the bears are bad for the next 15 miles so we made sure that everything, including our backpacks went into the bear boxes provided. Bought beers at the store and talked to the Andrews at a picnic table.
