Mile 1112-1132 Middle Velma Lake to Twin Peaks

Got up in our own sweet time after a great sleep. Really appreciated our cereal. Despite our slow start, we did 10 miles before 11 am and decided to have lunch at Richardson Lake. We bumped into our old trail pal, Pins, and another hiker, Red Pine. All of us, including Cherub, had lunch together. Then Lighthouse, fellow Scot, who's just over giardia and a friend showed up. Pins has done well to still be on the trail. She hiked through tendinitis, plantar fasciitis and then 300 miles with a stress fracture. She took time off to heal but her feet still aren't great so she's debating whether to continue. We heard about a lot of hikers leaving the trail after the high Sierras. Also, Seeds, Pins old hiking partner left to work on a muslim farm in Senegal.

Another beautiful day. This afternoon I listened to the entire repertoire of Chicago and Cabaret musicals. This used up a little extra energy because of my involuntary hand movements when the brass section kicks in but it was well worth it.

Chatted with the lovely Cherub over dinner at our campsite. Apparently there's a yoga festival at squaw valley which the PCT practically runs into.  That would be sooooo fun to attend, but I think we'll get there a day too early.  Talking of early, our plan is to get on the trail well before 7am tomorrow. Xx

Hey, Ingrid those 2 musical scores are my all time favorites. I could
cover many miles listening to them also. Mom
