We got cell phone reception yesterday and heard from Ruby that she would be in Tahoe today and that she'd pick us up where the trail intersects highway 50. We said we'd meet at 9am. The terrain was pretty easy though and the lure of town got us to the meeting point at 8 am.
It was great to see Ruby again and she took us, Katie and One Pint into town where we had a great breakfast, chorizo burritos and mango shakes, at the Keys Cafe. We then booked in to the Budget Inn where we immediately showered and got our laundry on the go.
Later the five of us had a pint of beer at the brewery with Bryce and Maggie followed by pizza and salad at a BlueDog pizza.
We need to take care of a few business things and also plan to meet with Tracy's old friends from college so we won't be getting back on the trail for about a week. We're sad our little team is breaking up for now, but hopefully we'll meet again on the trail.

Me and my kin are from Boone, North Carolina. Ever bin to Boone? You got a minute? I can tell you a whole lot more about Boone.........
