It's always hard leaving a town after being there a few days. One the one hand we can't wait to get on the trail again and into the beauty of nature, and on the other hand it's difficult letting go of flush toilets.
It took three buses to get us back up to Reds Meadow and back on the trail. As it was late in the day we decided to walk only a couple of miles, past Devils Post Pile before camping. We stayed at a closed campground with bear boxes and picnic tables. A young Israeli hiker named Messenger joined the four of us and built a fire.
