Mile 1174-1197 near White Rock Lake Road to Sierra City

Awesome day. Triple digit (106F) heat but we dunked our shirts and heads in every water source. Met Manchurian, Steven and Puppy. Had lunch together and Manchurian, Tracy and I stopped at great water hole to swim. We decided to go to Sierra City today, and not tomorrow as planned. The terrain was not rocky but soft spongey paths through pine forests so we were actually jogging towards the end. We got into Sierra City around five, out our tent up  in the back yard of the Red Moose in then went to the general store for giant burgers and shakes. Their shakes, made with real fruit were the best we've had. Hung our with the other hikers on the porch then had showered and a few beers in the bar back at the Red Moose. The icing on the day's cake was a text from Erin (Smiles) saying that she, Chik chok and T Rex were hitching into Sierra city today!!! So fun to see old Smiles again. Spoke with Sensei and other hikers from before too. The PCT class of 2013 is like a little moving village.
We're all in our tents or cowboy camping right now with noise of the Yuba river down the embankment behind us. This town is seriously cute.
