Mile 2018-2040 Koko Lake to Russell Creek

Woke up to a damp dark morning. Tent soaked, it hadn't rained it was just the damp air. With no live trees to take up the moisture we hadn't a chance. We walked 5 miles and had breakfast, then another 5 to a lake for lunch. We were joined by Drop Bizkut and Acid Glasses. We were able to dry out our sleeping bags and tent in the sun.

Booboo Kitty publicly poo-poo'd my sungloves in front of a day hiker, claiming that her own scabby, ill-fitting, filth-grey ones were superior. She is dead to me.

We passed about 5 south bound PCT hikers. Lining the trail we also passed lots of huckleberry and blueberry bushes which considerably slowed down our mileage.

The weather has definitely changed over the last week. The days are noticeably shorter and colder and there have been way more clouds. The upside to the recent thunderstorms is that the ground isn't dusty and for the first time our feet actually look clean at the end if the day.

We had an exciting river crossing at the end of the day and camped shortly afterwords. The three of us did a lot of talking today and had lots of laughs.
