Mile 2402-2413 Seattle via Snoqualmie Pass to Huckleberry Mountain

Seattle was awesome. I had just enough time to fit in a dip in Mary and Beth's hot tub the first morning before breakfast. Nice! Did all of our usual errands, like food resupply, buy fuel, pharmacy, map, planning next section and gear change. Tracy bought a snazzy new pair of New Balance trail runners. All three of us bought rain ponchos at REI and Katie bought an ultralite umbrella from a store in the U district. Our errands all over Seattle allowed us the opportunity to give Boo boo a tour of the various neighborhoods. We also managed to meet Mo and Eric who treated us to lunch at Hiroshi's Japanese restaurant. Arigatoo!  And we squeezed in a quick hello with Megan, Ali and their three little beauties: Ami (baby) and meeting Cayden (3 yrs) and Reni (2yrs) for the first time.
Katie had planned to take a week off to allow her feet to heal, but instead she decided to go back to the trail at Stevens pass and cut down the number of days she has to reach Canada. We dropped her off at the bus station this morning and said goodbyes. :(  We will totally miss her and her exotic Appalachian ways. She's super nice to eveyone all the  time, even complete strangers. What's with that? Must be a Southern thing! We are proud that she has done so many miles with the kind of foot pain that has taken many others off the trail for good. And she has continued with such great spirit and humor. Go crush it Katie, you're almost there!

Beth, our hero, kindly drove us back to Snoqualmie pass and we had a Thai curry lunch at the truck stand just outside the chevron station. We waved goodbye, happy that we'd see her and all of our Seattle friends again in just a couple of weeks.

Hiked 11 miles in past some stunning, majestic scenery. This was the first time however that it was too cold to hike without my jacket. We are camped high up with mist around us, clouds below in the valley to the north and under a giant harvest moon.
