Mile 2438-2468 Waptus River to Mig Lake

So, our "quiet night in" listening to a podcast in our tent never happened. Just as I finished yesterday's blog entry, we saw a headlight bouncing towards us through the darkness. "Herro?! Is that Toreishi?" It was our Japanese hiker pal, Kazuyo. Tracy asked her how far she was going and Kazu said until flat spot and was there a flat spot nearby? Tracy answered "no", but Kazu spotted one right next to our tent. In fact, she positioned her tent in such a way that I joked I was technically sleeping closer to Kazu than Tracy.

Stopped at another great breakfast spot overlooking a lake and meadow. Later listened to about 5 podcasts. Now I'm conversationally confident, at least until tomorrow, in Cuban history, the power of the message, the paradox of suicide, carpal tunnel syndrome, sharing work in the home 50/50, Ricky Gervais comedy and teenage reading habits. We also walked 30 miles. This is taking self improvement a bit far.

Some beautiful scenery today. And some lovely sounds... Kazu hikes wearing a little cat bell, it's like an early warning system. I'd wonder if she was still behind me and "tinkle, tinkle" I'd hear the bells as she jogged up behind. So cute!

Arrived at camp just before it got dark. It started to rain just as we were cooking dinner. Hmmmph. It stopped though. Glad we did 30 miles, only 7.5 to  Stephens pass tomorrow where we'll hitch to the Dinsmore's to pick up our second last box. We'll check the weather forecast and hike on, or stay, depending on the rain.
